how to eat the leaves
These are three different kinds of leaves of the artichoke...
The one on the left is from near the bottom of the stem. Dip the tip into melted butter. Scrape off the edible part with your teeth. Discard the inedible part.
The leaf in the middle is from the middle of the artichoke. Dip and scrape these kinds of leaves also.
The leaf on the right is from near the heart. For this kind of leaf you dip and eat the dark part of the tip off.
(There are some small leaves near the heart with purple tips that don't taste good.)
